Ideal for finishing stainless steel and heat-resistant superalloys, the YG1 85565TH solid carbide end mill measures 3/16″ in diameter with a 5/16″ length of cut, offering rigidity and precision in a compact size. The 5-flute design with a 45° helix angle and Hardslick coating delivers excellent surface finish and facilitates chip evacuation, reducing cutting forces and extending tool life during high-precision finishing. This end mill excels in applications demanding tight tolerances and smooth finishes on tough materials. Its sharp edge, due to the absence of a corner radius, enhances dimensional accuracy but requires careful handling to prevent chipping in interrupted cuts. The stub length reduces deflection and enhances stability in shallow slotting or profiling. Avoid using this tool on steel (ISO P) or non-ferrous materials as the Hardslick coating is not ideal and prone to rapid degradation. Its coating and geometry limit its application to stainless steel and HRSA materials exclusively.
