Compact yet precise, the YG1 86573TF solid carbide finishing end mill has a 1/4″ diameter, 3/4″ length of cut, and five flutes. Its 45° helix angle combined with the TiAlN Futura coating ensures excellent surface finish and effective chip evacuation in steel and related materials. This design reduces vibration and extends tool life during light radial stock removal, fitting recommended parameters for finishing low carbon steel 1018/A36. This end mill performs well on steel (ISO P) and also covers stainless steel (ISO M), HRSA (ISO S), and cast iron (ISO K), thanks to its coating and geometry. The absence of a corner radius focuses performance on smooth edge finishes, avoiding chipping common with radius tools. Its center cutting capability supports plunge cutting and slotting with controlled chip flow. Avoid using this tool on non-ferrous materials (ISO N), as the TiAlN Futura coating is not well matched and will wear out quickly. This end mill is not designed for roughing or heavy material removal, where different flute counts and coatings would be preferable.
