Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 492 to 3281 sfm, feeds from 0.001 to 0.008 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.118 in. Its small nose radius of 0.008″ is ideal for finishing to light semi-finishing cuts, providing good surface finish and edge life when ap is limited to 0.118 in and feed to 0.008 in/rev. The insert is designed for continuous cutting operations only. It is optimized for ISO material group N (non-ferrous metals), making it suitable primarily for aluminum and copper alloys. The positive rake chipbreaker and 55° diamond shape provide excellent profiling clearance and low cutting forces, but this insert is not recommended for interrupted cuts or rough turning.
