The YG1 84593TN solid carbide finishing end mill, sized at 1/2″ diameter with a 1″ length of cut, offers rigidity and precision through its stub length and six-flute design. With a 40° helix angle and TiN coating, it enhances chip evacuation and surface finish during finishing operations on low carbon steels like 1018 and A36. Its center cutting capability supports plunge milling and slotting with controlled chip load. This end mill supports finishing in steel and extends usability to hard materials and stainless steel, utilizing the wear resistance of the TiN coating alongside stable flute geometry. The combination of a high flute count and helix angle reduces vibration and improves surface quality, fitting recommended profiles for finishing and light roughing in these materials. It is not suitable for use on HRSA (ISO S) materials due to coating unsuitability leading to rapid degradation.
