Applications

Cutting speeds range from 98 to 574 sfm with feed rates between 0.001 and 0.002 in/rev. Depth of cut is limited to a maximum of 0.012 in, supporting light finishing to semi-finishing operations. The small 0.008″ nose radius favors fine surface finishes at these light depths and feeds. This insert is designed for general cutting with a universal grade suitable for a variety of steels, stainless steels, cast irons, and HRSA/titanium alloys. Primary ISO material groups include P30-P40 steels and M20-M30 stainless steels, with secondary suitability for K20-K25 cast irons and S15-S25 HRSA/titanium. The positive rake and 55° diamond shape provide excellent profiling clearance but limit use in interrupted cuts or rough turning. This insert is ideal for finishing and light semi-finishing but not recommended for rough or heavily interrupted cuts.
