Finding Edges, Corners, Hole Centers Made Easy with Haimer’s Universal 3D-Sensors. The Universal 3D-Sensor is a versatile measuring instrument for edge finders and hole centers. It is easily compatible to be used in milling and EDM machines. Since you may approach the workpiece in any direction (X-, Y-, Z- axes), it is commonly referred to as a 3-D sensor. This allows for the length to be measured quickly and easily. Haimer 3-D Tasters are designed to reduce operator error in finding edges, corners, hole centers. It improves operational productivity by eliminating the need to calculate the probe’s ball diameter, unlike most other edge-finders. Instead, the edge is found by setting the dial gage to rest at zero. Using this German-made measuring device, you will be able to find the edge on the very first attempt. The sensor accuracy is such that you are able to inspect your parts right on the machine. The unit has a large overrun distance. It is in connection with the fully tested preset breaking points that the sensor gets a longer life. All Haimer Universal 3D-Sensors are tested individually when being assembled to ensure maximum measuring precision. The sensor unit is enclosed with IP67 protection, making it safe to use in harsh work conditions. Use only original HAIMER probe tips to achieve a measuring precision of 0.01 mm / 0.0004 inch on Universal 3-D Taster. The delivery set includes (1) Universal 3D-Sensor with clamping shank diameter 3/4 inch, short probe tip diameter of 0.2 inch.
