Applications

Cutting speeds range from 361 to 755 sfm, feeds from 0.003 to 0.009 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.118 in. This insert supports general to interrupted cutting with a maximum depth of cut of 0.118 in. Suitable for ISO P30-P35 steels primarily, with secondary capability in M20-M30 stainless steels, K30 cast irons, and S15-S25 heat-resistant superalloys and titanium. Its positive rake geometry and 80° diamond shape make it ideal for finishing and semi-finishing operations, including light interrupted cuts, but it is not recommended for heavy roughing or severe interrupted cuts.
