Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 98 to 574 sfm, feeds between 0.001 and 0.002 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.012 in. The very fine 0.002″ nose radius is ideal for light finishing cuts with low cutting forces and excellent surface finish. It is designed for general cutting applications with a positive rake chipbreaker. Suitable for ISO P30-P40 steels primarily, with secondary capability in M20-M30 stainless steel, K20-K25 cast iron, and S15-S25 HRSA/titanium. This insert is best used in continuous cutting conditions; it is not recommended for interrupted cuts due to its positive rake and fine nose radius.
