Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds up to 400 m/min, feed rates from 0.15 to 0.35 mm/rev, and depths of cut up to 4.0 mm. It is designed for medium to rough turning and facing operations with a nose radius of 3/64″ that balances edge strength and moderate feed capability. Ideal for ISO P and ISO K materials, this insert excels in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron machining. Its negative rake geometry and strong cutting edge make it well-suited for interrupted cuts and heavy-duty roughing, but it is not recommended for precision finishing or profiling. The insert performs best in rigid setups with heavier interrupted entries and is not suitable for thin-wall or low-rigidity workpieces.
