Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 427 to 820 sfm, feeds ranging from 0.010 to 0.024 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.315 in. It is designed for medium to low speed roughing with general to interrupted cutting applications. The maximum depth of cut is 0.315 in, which should not be exceeded for optimal performance. It is suitable primarily for ISO P25-P35 steel and secondarily for M25-M35 stainless steel. Its negative rake chipbreaker and robust 80° diamond shape make it ideal for roughing and interrupted cuts, especially in steel and stainless steel, while providing excellent edge strength and high material removal rates. This insert is not recommended for precision finishing or profiling operations.
