Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 525 to 984 sfm, feeds between 0.010 and 0.028 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.315 in. It is designed for general cutting with a maximum depth of cut of 0.315 in. The insert is intended primarily for ISO P20-P25 steel materials, offering robust performance in medium to rough turning and facing operations. It excels in heavy interrupted cuts and roughing where rigidity and edge strength are critical. With a negative rake chipbreaker and an 80° diamond shape, this insert is well suited for strong, stable cutting conditions but is not recommended for precision finishing or profiling. Its design favors shoulder turning and heavy-duty boring in rigid setups, making it ideal for production environments handling steel forgings and castings with scale.
