Applications

Designed for precision finishing in steel, the YG1 86570TN 7/32″ diameter solid carbide end mill has a 3/4″ length of cut and five flutes with a 45° helix angle. The TiN coating enhances wear resistance and reduces built-up edge, complementing the geometry to ensure smooth cutting and effective chip evacuation during light radial stock removal. This tool performs well in finishing low carbon steel, matching ISO P recommendations for high flute counts and helix angles. Its single end design and standard length allow controlled depth passes, making it suitable for steel as well as non-ferrous, stainless steel, and cast iron materials. Avoid using this end mill on heat-resistant superalloys (HRSA ISO S) because the TiN coating is not well suited and may cause premature wear. The tool’s lack of a corner radius necessitates careful use to prevent edge chipping in interrupted cuts or aggressive machining conditions.
