Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 525 to 984 sfm, feeds from 0.012 to 0.028 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.315 in. It is designed for general cutting with a maximum depth of cut of 0.315 in. The insert is optimized for ISO P20-P25 steel materials, making it suitable primarily for medium to rough turning and facing operations. Its negative rake chipbreaker and robust design enable excellent performance in interrupted cuts and heavy machining conditions. Ideal for steel and alloy steel workpieces, this insert excels in roughing and interrupted cutting scenarios. It is well-suited for production outside diameter turning, facing of forgings and castings with scale, and boring in rigid setups. This insert is not recommended for precision finishing or profiling due to its negative rake geometry and shape limitations.
