The YG1 85561TC finishing end mill, sized 5/32″ diameter by 5/16″ length of cut, offers a stub length that provides excellent rigidity and precision where limited reach and accuracy are essential. Its 45° helix angle combined with five flutes improves surface finish and chip evacuation, reducing vibration during light radial stock removal. Equipped with a TiCN coating, this tools geometry supports smooth cutting across steel, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and cast iron. Its center-cutting feature allows plunge cutting, enhancing versatility in finishing operations. It is well-suited for finishing low carbon steels such as 1018 and A36, consistent with recommended machining combinations. Avoid employing this end mill on heat resistant super alloys (HRSA ISO S) because the TiCN coating is not ideal and will deteriorate quickly. Its lack of a corner radius means that preventing edge chipping relies on maintaining appropriate feed rates and cutting parameters rather than on geometry.
