Applications

With a 1/4″ diameter and 1-1/2″ length of cut, the YG1 55573TE solid carbide end mill provides a 6.0x length-to-diameter ratio that facilitates rigidity and precision during deeper milling operations. Equipped with 4 flutes, a 30° helix angle, and YG TiAlN Extreme coating, it balances chip evacuation and cutting edge strength, making it well-suited for free-machining steel and general milling tasks. This tools geometry and coating combination is recommended for low carbon steel slotting, enhancing tool life and performance without concerns related to corner radius chipping. However, it is not designed for use on Non-Ferrous (ISO N) materials, as the TiAlN Extreme coating is not well suited and will deteriorate rapidly. The end mill does not support applications requiring corner radius protection or specialized coatings tailored for non-ferrous metals.
