Applications

The YG1 7572 finishing end mill, sized at 15/64″ with a 3/4″ length of cut, features a length-to-diameter ratio of approximately 3.2, offering rigidity and control suited for precision finishing in non-ferrous materials. Its 4-flute layout and 30° helix angle, combined with a bright coating, deliver smooth chip evacuation and reduced friction, helping maintain sharp cutting edges and prevent built-up edge in soft metals like brass and bronze.
This tools geometry and coating make it ideal for profiling and finishing non-ferrous alloys, especially brass and bronze, where the lower helix angle reduces grabbing and ensures a clean surface finish. The absence of a corner radius sharpens edge cutting for better dimensional accuracy, but requires careful use to avoid chipping in interrupted cuts.
Hard steel applications are usually better handled by coated end mills. This tool is also not recommended for plastics that need specialized coatings to prevent melting or burr formation.
