Engineered for finishing operations on steel, particularly low carbon steels such as 1018 and A36, the YG1 86600TC End Mill has a 1″ diameter and 2″ length of cut that provide the necessary rigidity to reduce deflection during light radial stock removal. Its 5-flute design, combined with a 45° helix angle and TiCN coating, promotes excellent surface finish and chip evacuation, which reduces vibration and extends tool life. The combination of high flute count and TiCN coating enables smooth cutting and fine finishes on steel, while also allowing use on non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and cast iron, consistent with its recommended material scores. This setup aligns well with best practices for finishing low carbon steels. Avoid employing this tool on heat-resistant superalloys (HRSA ISO S), as the TiCN coating is not compatible and will degrade quickly.
